Whether you are experiencing the loss of a child, brother, sister or grandchild, at The Compassionate Friends you will find the understanding of those who have “been there”, who have “walked in your shoes” and really care. There are no pressures to talk or not talk, to cry or not cry, just a chance to be yourself and have time-out, and if you wish, talk about your son or daughter, grandchild or brother or sister. We strive to make families feel not so alone, provide comfort and understanding, a sense of how others are coping and surviving, and that there is hope for the future…Knowing you are never alone and that there is hope is the key to surviving the loss of a child.

We are a world-wide family of bereaved parents caring for one another…We offer no miracle cure, just comfort, and the consolation and hope that broken threads can be picked up again
